Women Warriors is a project devoted to documenting the experiences and voices of women who have served in the U.S. military.  We’ll profile servicewomen and veterans and curate news about them, with a special focus on women in combat roles.

More than 200,000 women are on active duty in the U.S. armed forces, making up 14.6% of active-duty forces. In January 2013, Congress passed a bill officially ending its policy of excluding women from combat. At a moment when more women are serving on the front lines than ever before, Women Warriors aims to be a place for intelligent thought and conversation about the stories and issues that matter to American servicewomen.
